Championship Show 18thNovember

Dogs: Claire Lee (Constones)

Clare grew up with Staffords. She handled, as a child, her fathers dogs, Ch Constones Cadet as a puppy; Constones Concordia to 2 C.C.s In the 1960s she joined in partnership with her Click here father and husband in the CONSTONES prefix, which is now the oldest active affix in the Breed in the U.K.

She was given a puppy as a wedding present and made her up as Ch Constones Compact, who then when on to produce Constones Aboy, winner of 2 CCs and Ch Constones Grim Girl.

In the 70s and 80s the kennel produced Constones Overlord who won 1 reserve CC and Constones Tuscaloosa Sam who won 1 CC and 1 Reserve and his aunt Constones Rio Rita also won 1 reserve CC The litter sisters Paragon and Posie produced Ch Skean Dhu and Ch Lydes Hermione and CH Lydes Cleopatra. Later in the decade Constones Whimsy produced Ch Bated Breath at Constones.

The most successful Dog so far  from this line was Ch Constones Yer Man who was winner of 20 CCs, Top Stafford and Top Sire 1989 and 1990. He sired 11 Champions from 69 litters. His half-sister Constones Cadence at Jonunas won 1 CC and 1 Reserve.  Yer Man’s Great Grand-son Ch Constones High Five was made up in 1999 as was his full litter brother: Constones Hells Bells in Australia . In 2001 High Five’s half-sister: Ch Constones Jump for Joy became a Champion.  

Clare judged her first Championship Show in 1973 and since judged in most parts of the U.K. , including Crufts 1985. She has also judged in eight European Countries and further afield in U.S.A. , South Africa , Canada and Australia .

Author and co-author of two books on the Breed, Clare is a Committee Member and Life Vice President of the Northern Counties SBT Club.

Bitches. Alec Waters (Ashtock) 

Alec  started in the breed in 1962.His Ashstock Belle Buttons  produced the famous Ashstock Wild Colonial Boy, 2 C.C.s and his 2 brothers, Ashstock Albion Torch (3 res. C.C.s) and Ashstock Jack of Diamonds.

"Oscar", Wild Colonial Boy was tragically killed in a road accident at at a young age.The very last litter he sired produced Aus. Ch. Colonial Force of Ashstock, (U.K. Junior Warrant winner) who went to Australia where he was top stud dog for a number of years.

Overseas Champions and those carrying the Ashstock prefix, include,

Aus. Ch. Ashstock. Mad Hatter, Aus. Ch.Colonial Force of Ashstock., Aus Ch. Ashstock. Old Hat,

S.A. Ch. Ashstock. Pearl Buttons , S.A. Ch. Simba of Ashstock. Dutch Ch. Pearl Barley of Ashstock.  

Dogs of note in the UK that have come out of the Ashstock kennel include  Ashstock Scarlett Buttons 1C.C. and 1 Res. C.C.s, CH Astock by Jupiter.

Alec  first awarded C.C.s in 1972, and since then has judged 23 further C.C. Shows including Crufts Dog Show in 1980

He has judged in Australia , South Africa , Germany , U.S.A. ,

Israel, Holland twice, Finland, Southern Ireland Belgium and New Zealand  and I also have the honour of Judging the Spanish SBT Ch. Show (their first ever Ch. Show 2002)  

Alec was the Secretary of the Southern Counties S.B.T.S. for a number of years, and the Editor of the Stafford Magazine for 2 separate terms, he served on their committee over a period of 30 years, and has been  a continous member of that Society since 1962.

He was elected Life Vice President of the S.C.S.B.T.S.,  and also elected as a Life Vice President by the East Anglian S.B.T.C., where he has served as a Committee member for a number of years.

He has served as Chairman of the S.B.T. Breed Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Alec has also had the honour of being elected as a Patron of the New South Wales S.B.T.C. for several years.
